Breast Augmentation Questions

Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas

Breast Enlargement available in our office in Fort Worth, Texas and Dallas, Texas

What types of breast implants are best for you?
Dr. Rai can advise you about whether round implants or more natural shaped implants will work best with your body type. Dr. Rai uses saline filled breast implants for cosmetic breast surgery.

What are the risks of breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure and, as such, involves some risk including the possibility of bleeding, blood clots, infection and adverse reactions to anesthesia. There is the risk that a breast implant will burst or leak. Dallas breast augmentation surgeon, Dr. Rai, is very careful to discuss all risks associated with breast enlargement surgery.

How long should I take off work?
Most women return to work within a few days and resume more strenuous activity within a few weeks. You will be sore and tired for a few days after breast enlargement surgery.

Am I a good candidate for breast augmentation?
If your breasts are fully developed – usually late teens or early twenties – you may be eligible for breast augmentation. Many breast enlargement patients are self-conscious about their size or feel uncomfortable with how they look in a swimsuit. Other patients choose to have breast enlargement (sometimes with a breast lift) when their breasts begin to sag after having children.

Will I be able to breast feed after breast enlargement?
Breast implant surgery usually will not affect your ability to breast feed. Dr. Rai will discuss this with you if you have questions.

What about mammograms?
Women who have risk factors or who are in the appropriate age group should continue to have routine mammograms. Your mammography technician may need to use a special technique to ensure reliable readings even through you have breast implants.
